While working at Old Navy Active, I was in charge of our Dynamic Fleece category. In this role, I leveraged the polished look of our fleece to create products that were comfortable but still fashionable. Through discussions with our merchants, it became clear that our post-Covid consumers were not ready to give up the comfort to which they had grown accustomed. Using this feedback, I designed sweatpants that our customer would feel confident wearing in settings beyond the gym and her home.
The Dynamic Fleece trouser was created with the intent of looking like a real pant, incorporating details like pin tucks and a faux fly for an elevated look. The success of this product eventually led to a spin off style — the trouser cargo.
This style generated over $6.1M in retail sales as of March 2024.
Social Media Reactions
In addition to commercial success, the Dynamic Fleece trousers also created significant buzz on social media. The pants went viral on Tik Tok and generated over 17M impressions across multiple posts.
